Hunting Dress???

My daughter is hunting her section B with the NF Hounds this week - when she shows him she wears jodhs and jod boots with a tweed jacket - she has been told to wear her blue jacket and a stock by other people who go with the NF, should she wear just her jod boots, or jod boots and gaiters (brown boots/blck boots - brown or black gaiters?????) She has long leather boots but as they cost over £300 doesn't want to wear them hunting!!

My sister hunts in jods and jod boots, I think younger members and pony clubbers can do this with most hunts, best thing to do is call your hunt sec up and ask whether this is ok. I know the feeling, I save my best boots for best Hope she has a good time.

How old is your daughter? It is usually correct for most juniors to wear Tweed and jod boots. Most wear chaps or gaiters nowadays too, give much more protection too.

I have to say she is not a child. The tweed & jod boots are correct showing wear - she does not want to wear rubber boots either - she would be happy to wear gaiters with the jod boots - but does she go for black or brown?

Not having a go at anyone, just a personal thought.... if I were ever inclined to go hunting (not that I am), the dress rules would stop me. I'm all for safety, and smartness.... but the what to wear with what is just so .... (sorry, but I have to say it).... old fashioned.
