But i have never been be4 and got told that they canter and gallop everywhere is this true? , or are you aloud to go at ur own pace .

also how long does it take to do the hunt is it a all day thing or just a couple of hours

Around my area they dont gallop and canter everywhere. with us its about 50% road work (walk/trot) and 15% field work (canter gallop) and the rest standing around doing nothing. We get alot of rests and stops so its not cntering around everywhere. and you can go your own pace. about the times. you can go home when ever you like. Our hunt leaves the meet at 11 and i stay out untill the end which means i normally get back to the pub and have my cawl at 2/3 o clock

which part of East Sussex are you in? I am going out with the East Kent Autumn hunting in a couple of weeks time.I have only been once before but as a general guideline from the time I went previously we did a fair bit of cantering but none of it was flat out.there was a fair bit of standing around to do as well. There is normally a non jumping way round any obstacles but if there isn't then the hunt will inform you of this beforehand if you speak to the hunt secretary.
