what the best hunt in east sussex brighton area .

thanks every1 x

I presume your nearest hunt would be the Southdown? Don't know anything about charges etc, but generally you should be able to find a way around most jumps, and you probably wouldn't be the only non jumper. At a guess I'd say a normal hunt jump would be between 2ft and 3ft max. You can stay our for as long or short as you like, most meets being about 11am and can go on til dark. I don't hunt with them so can't be more specific sorry!

Their website: http://www.southdownanderidge.org.uk/

If you look through their photo galleries you may see some jumps

ok thank you for your help

Coakham bloodhounds hunt in east sussex, not quite as far as brighton but we have several meets on the downs. Have a look at the website www.coakhambloodhounds.com. we are a very friendly hunt but you generally need to be able to jump boundary fences of 2'9" ish confidently

Hi, thankyou for putting on this post. I have been wondering myself recently and then I saw some pictures of someone hunting around Lewes area! I would be really interested but I dont know if I would be able to brave the jumps haha! But im sure my mare would manage to get me over them some how haha

Southdown and Eridge always have a non-jumping group so you do not have to jump anything - or you can mix and match usually!!! They also used to have a special rate for newcomers' first and second outings. You can find the information out from hunt secretaries
