I have never been hunting but recently I feel I have been plucking up the courage to consider it! I have no idea if my horse has hunted before - I imagine he should be fairly sensible but I have not jumped him yet so would be looking to stay with non-jumpers for my first few times. Does anyone hunt with Cambridgeshire Hunt with Enfield Chace? I am in Cambridgeshire near Perry, Grafham area (not far from St Neots) so don't know if there are any other hunts? If anyone has hunted around Cambridgeshire I would love any information you can give me. Is there a lot of jumping to be done and are the fields quite short? I think I would have to befriend someone to go along with for my first time (such a chicken!!)

I would try ringing the secretary and picking her brains. I imagine the Fitzwilliam can't be too far from you? Or are they more north? THe Puckeridge wouldn't be that far south either. I don't know much about any of them except the Puckeridge and am out of date with them tbh.

I hunt with the Cambridgeshire and Enfield Chace nearly every week and it's great! We are a very friendly bunch (although I say it myself) and have meets to suit everyone. We have some big jumping meets (although there is always a way round) which can be quite busy and some much smaller, quieter meets if you'd rather. Have a look on our website for contact details. If you want someone to stick with you for the first bit there would be lots of volunteers. Hope to see you soon!
