hunting in ireland - scarteen and limeric

i have ALWAYS wanted to hunt in ireland for my 18th birthday and this year, it seems to be going to plan. it is my birthday on monday the 4th and i am driving out on sunday 3rd with two good friends for a days hunting on tuesday with the scarteen in big banking country and a day with the limeric for some hedge and stone wall country...has anyone ever been out hunting in ireland....we will stay untill thursday and would love some ideas of how and where to fill our time. we are staying near limeric, in a village called adare! thanks! :cool:

You'll love it! The people are wonderful out there, always very friendly. Are you staying at The Dunraven (if I remember rightly) if you're not, you should try there for a meal sometime; I've heard very good reports of there! :)

going to find a B and B at some point!!! have heard the dunraven is the place to be after hunting. i cant wait! going to seriously dent bank account. have worked out its going to cost £894 for two days hunting!! ARGH!!! sooo worth it i hope!

When we went otter hunting over there a few years ago now, we stopped at a very nice b & b just outside Askeaton which is just along the road from Adare if that's any good? It's (or it was!)registered with Family Homes of Ireland, the details are
Mrs Marie Whelan. Cloonreask, Askeaton, Co. Limerick. Tel: 061 392556 (not sure of the code for Ireland!)

We liked it enough to keep the card for Marie in a safe place! I'm sure if she can't help she'll be able to recommend someone for you.

You will have great fun, who are you renting the horses from? what day are you hunting with the limerick lot, adare is a rather quiet place if you are looking for some night life, you may want to head out a bit. pm me if you needand other info
