hunting in manchester...(anything in manchester)

right, iv moved from my hometown of canterbury,kent up to salford and i'm having trouble finding a local hunt up here in the north west. Horse and hound keep posting these lovely directories but it is of absolutly no use unless you know the name of your local hunt wich i dont!! so any information please on hunting,x-country, team chasing ect in the manchester area.
and liverys inthe salford/swinton/wardley/worsley area?

Hi,
i'm not 100% sure about this (everyone feel free to correct me if i've got it wrong) but i think the Cheshire Forest and possibly the Cheshire would be closest to you. I'm with the Cheshire forest are we're usually just south of Manchester, sort of Warrington/Northwich way. Try www.mfha.co.uk to see if you find anyone closer.

There are some hunts in Lancashire... Holcombe Harriers is probably the one that would come closest to you. I think they do hunt Bolton and Rochdale areas.

There's also Vale of Lune but that's further north... north Lancs and into Cumbria.

South Manchester you've got High Peak.

Bit of a culture shock going from Canterbury to Salford but welcome to the north

I read the report on holcombe looks good iv only got a little 15.2hh but i m sure she'd cope!!
So i now have the number... now when I last hunted it was £8 i of course was in pony club so the next questions are.....
when are the meets?
how much would they cost ?
and would anyone care to join me?

your 15.2 would be fine theres always ponies out with kids and adults on so yours wouldnt have a problem
