Hunting near London

Hello

I used to ride a lot and most recently played polo but have not jumped since a teenager. I am very keen to try hunting and to find a hunt I could go to maybe once every three / four weeks over the season. I would need to hire horses and also be told what to do.

Can anybody recommend a friendly hunt that is close to London. We are in SW London so Surrey and Sussex are the easiest to get to. I also have a young family so if there is one which is welcoming for them to watch etc that would be a bonus and I might get more days out!

Try the Surrey union, they re a nice bunch with friendly secretary's and masters. If you went on their website and joined their hunt supporters group(about £20 ) ,You would get their emails about meets, hunter hirelings and newcomers meets etc They hunt up around Dorking and near the cranleigh area, to give you a rough idea .
