I am very pleased to report that the prosecution of the Weston & Banwell Harriers JM and huntsman, for one Hunting Act offence and one Protection of Badgers Act offence has collapsed at Taunton Magistrates Court today, 'no case to answer'.
The case was being prosecuted by the CPS using LACS evidence.
Good news! :)

Yes, how relieved the Master at whom the prsecution was directed must be in the face of such harassment since Feb last year! I think it is about time that the police are instructed to run some of these so-called "monitors" in and charge them. It makes my blood boil to see such malicious harassment and vicious bullying of people going unpunished by the law which is perfectly able to deal with it. The LACS and RSPCA etc, funding the 'monitors', try to make themselves appear respectable and law abiding, but many of us know they are far from it.

I suspect that the CPS will very quickly learn two irrefutable facts; Firstly that evidence produced by those with either bias, or a rabid slant, will fail in Court, because evidence needs to be offered in a balanced fashion, and Secondly, as in all criminal prosecutions, considering the state of our world, the question must be asked "Is this really in the public interest"?, because it's certainly the view taken on a great many other petty crimes.
