What age do/did you start hunting your youngsters?
Do you think it benefited them in anyway?

Thanks for any replys!

heres my 3 yr old on his 2nd time out this morning NB its only quiet autumn hunting at the moment, pootling round the woods- he wouldnt be doing a jumping saturday :) he was really well behaved and i am so pleased with him :) i always hunt mine at 3 so i will know they will hunt ( if they wont then i would school them for regular riding and sell on) it teaches them to be steady in a group, forward going without being a nutjob and you have a horse that can cope with pretty much anything you throw at it :g: my husband was hunting last years breaking in job- harry the spotty :) OH has to have something safe after breaking his back in 2009 (hence point 2 air jacket) Harry is terrific fun, whizzy but steady and anybodys ride. Neither he or his brother (the previous years project) have EVER had a rider off :)

D_D_D can't believe u just said that no-one has fallen off them, please say that you had fingers + toes crossed and touching lots off wood!! :)

Come on- you've ridden Harry- the only way your coming off him is too much stirrup cup and passing out - lol! anyway tumblers club is a great fundraiser

and another thought for OP- all the ones i have broken in and started hunting early are snaffle mouths :)
