Had a lovely day on Chloe, with Giggles on her HUGE hireling, who was also a gem.
Chloe stood like a statue at the meet, whilst watching some of the huntsmens' horses doing acrobats all over the place!
First half an hour was a bit hairy - very fast - first canter was horrible and knocked me a bit!
But the rest of it was lovely - Chloe stood when asked, didn't need to be asked to go LOL, and jumped everything beautifully - wanted to jump a hedge, but wasn't feeling that great - I will next time!!
We had a long break at the farm where the rest of the hunt was being troubled by the anti's, and where a horse had an accident, so vet had to be called out
- they arrived after what felt like ages, then we spent another half an hour milling around, with the hounds weeing on mum's car!! Lots of anti's came to join us in their balaclavas and video cameras, so most people began to peel off after that, on the way back.
But the hack on the way back was great - sun starting to go down, lots of gallops and a fair few jumps, eventually there was six of us left just walking down the lanes in the lovely sunlight - bliss.
Mum lost us in the car, so didn't get many photos. But she was excellent - car was filled with tea, porridge, and all sorts of lovely delights!
At the meet
Eyeing up some cakes, when we were all waiting for the rest of the field.
Fantastic day - thank you Surrey Union and *it's a mouthful* Chiddingfold, Leconfield and Cowdray (it was a joint meet) for a wonderful day!!! And massive thank you to my mum - 12 hr day for her, and Giggle's mum!
