No.

The ground is likely to be so boggy that ponio will lose shoe in an instant.

If he is the footsore type then I wouldn't be risking it just for the sake of a day's hunting

No, I wouldn't. I know someone who did, the shoe came off but only partially, horse trod on one of the clenches and promptly went hopping lame and spent the next 4 weeks on box rest with a festering abscess...

Unusual for any of mine to have a loose shoe, but my farrier who doesn't work weekends, will pop out to sort a loose shoe so we don't miss a day.

If you are desperate to go, give farrier a ring and tell him why - for some reason a lot of them seem to be happy to help if you have a hunt or the like on

Thanks LindaW - did phone my farrier last week to bring next appointment forward, and explained about hunting, but still said could'nt come out.
Wish my farrier was as flexible as yours - he has shod for me for 6 yrs and although 100% reliable for pre-booked appointments, hopeless in an 'emergency'. Am considering changing but feel like I am 'dumping a boyfriend' as we get on so well, but neddy's feet must come first. Also this is not the first time he has let me down on loose/lost shoes so don't think I am being unreasonable!
