The Aldenham Harriers disbanded a year or two back :-(

We've got to the Waddesdon Manor meet of the Bicester & Whaddon Chase cos its the only one south/close enough to us. Thats nearly at the end of their season in Feb ish from memory. Its quite a sedate meet and fab surroundings. A friend of ours is a subscriber. Mind you my beestie did cart me all the way from the boxes to the meet down a slipperly tarmac road so less sedate for me :-O

Diana - phone number above - lives in Potters Bar and will sort you out.

The Cambridge and EC covers a lot of ground but has meets in Kimpton, Peters Green and Nomansland (St Albans) etc mixed in with a greater number in Cambridgeshire. Its a friendly bunch without much formality.

All the horses get excited: stick behind a big one!

If they get away with their plans to fence off Nomansland common to graze cattle/sheep there wont be no huntin there no more

anyone who hasnt already please complete the Countryside management service/council consultation - it closes TOMORROW!
http://enquire.hertscc.gov.uk/cms/grazing/default.htm

otherwise Colney Heath, Nomansland, Bricket Wood Common and Chorleywood common will be doomed....

I'm in Herts too, and whilst I don't think I'd want to ride with a hunt I'd like to go and see one.... I never have... can you just go and watch/walk around??

Sorry if that's a dumbass question, just know nothing about it!

I'd like to take my green horse to see the hunt/hounds before going on a hunt, is this possible? Also I know there's a hunt that meets near me but can't remember for the life of me what it's called, any ideas anyone? :D

Gin Gin, yes of course you can go to the meet, and you can follow on foot too if you like.

The Vale of Aylesbury have a website (details in my post above); the others can be contacted if you google the hunt name.

And Tabitha Kate young horses are quite often taken to the meet but then dont follow on, tho they might want you to pay the cap for the day just the same. Best to contact the secretary of the hunt.
