Does anyone else suffer with this?

Everytime the bloodhounds come through they never shut the gates after them, 80 acres is a fair walk with about 20 gates to shut, they have a quad bike following the pack and horses but he seems to be on a jolly and never shut the gates, which they always promise to do! Its a pain to leave the horses in and then to waste another hour shutting all the gates so we can turnout! YO said she wasn't going to let them through this year but apparently they are coming tomorrow!

It messes up my precious weekend and adds to the mucking out, Damn it!

Any one else get this kind of treatment or is it just us?

I would have a word with the master and perhaps the person who follows on the quad? Certainly in our hunt if a gate needs shutting then we pass back 'gate please' which most hunts do and then the last person through shuts the gate or we soemtimea have 'gateshutters' out. Any gates that are left open for us, are then shut if required by our countryman on the quad at the end off the day usually.

bloody bad manners, this happened lastsaturday with us, luckily the owner rang us without going around the houses butshe can be abit iffy about hunting but OH is the height of diplomacy so it was sorted thank god, mind you, the followers all had a *******ing at the end of wednesday.

I would have a word with the Hunt Master and explain your problem. Its incredibly rude of them to be going on your land (they should be thankful) and not bothering to obey the rules. If I were you I would look into this

Around here we always have trouble like this from the bloodhounds including not notifying farmers that they are using their land, breaking hunt jumps and not repairing them so the foxhounds get blamed and so on (!) but very rarely from the foxhounds about shutting gates. Dare I say it but different people with a different set of decency rules, that's what it seems to us, like it or not.

Thats all well and good saying 'have a word with the master' but I wouldn't have the first clue who that is or how to get hold of them!

last time they came I turned out the next morning in thick fog, only for one of the liverys arriving about 10 minutes later to say mine were in the wrong field and heading for the road! nice.... and we were assured they would shut the gates!

Can you find where the hunt starts from so you can tell the master to make sure gates are closed or you will padlock them shut so no one can open them, let alone leave them open. You need to be this strict to get the message across or they will simply continue to do it.

Is this in Hunting Forum?

Honestly.. they think they rule the flippin' world.

Agree with nala1 - take away the priveliegdes... that'll teach 'em.

This ^^^ I'm always at the back and the gates are ALWAYS shut - our masters would be furious if they thought anyone had left a gate open!
