At the weekend I decided to bite the bullet and tack up the pony!
A quick recap for everyone-I lightly showed him in hand last year, then in sept he went away to be backed, then I rode him on a little bit before turning him away before Christmas. He's physically quite immature and his teeth are also very slow! He's wintered out quite well (I think?) and we've had lots of fun along the way and had some good cuddles too!

So on saturday I decided it was probably about time I did something with him. He was very chilled, long reined well. With no intention of sitting on him we took him down to the stream at the end of the field. He has always been scared of water so I was over come with emotion when, after 10 mins or so, he just walked in like it was the most normal thing in the world! He walked up and down and in and out and I have never been more proud!
Then yesterday he was a complete sod! Someone had swapped my pony with a beast! After 20mins flat out on the lunge line he decided he was WAYYYY too tired to carry on and turned back to being a good little pony!
So there we have it, quite a successful weekend if I do say so myself. Can't wait for the ground to dry out some more
(although we have snow this morning so might be a while!) Praying he has another inch or so in him!
Peppermint tea and weetabix with warm milk for everyone!
