Has anyone any experience with this condition?

The vet found a heart murmur in the Patchy Cat at her annual check up last week, so she had an ultrasound scan of her her heart and a blood test today, and was diagnosed with this.
She is currently absolutely fine in herself, and there's no sign of congestive heart failure, so the vet doesn't want to give her any medication yet, just to monitor respiratory rate and weight at home, and a check up in 6 months time.

I have done a bit of research on-line, and there seems to be some evidence that supplementing Taurine, Co-enzyme Q10 and Omega 3 oils can help. Has anyone successfully used these supplements to control/slow down progress of the condition?

I will obviously discuss this with my vet, before I do anything.

Thank you :)

I know this is an oldish thread, but I just came across it. I can't really offer any advice, just sympathies. I remember trawling the Internet for answers when my kitten was diagnosed with a heart condition at 4 months. I used to buy him a wet food high in taurine but at 2 euros a tin and 4 cats it got fairly expensive! Though I'd sneak him a tin in secret as often as I could. I think anything that could help the heart is worth a go and from what I remember they aren't harmful even in large quantities. Unfortunately poor Haggis had other, probably neurological, complications which involved hours of head pressing, pacing and drooling and he died just before his second birthday. He was possibly the best cat we ever owned. If I have any advice it would be to trust your vet, stay off the Internet ( I became obsessed) and enjoy your cat.
