If I wanted to buy the follwing horse what sort of budget do you think I would need:

up to 13yo, Mare, approx 16.2hh. 100% sound and with no significant injury history, To be correctly dressage schooled to at least Adv Med and suitable for capable amateur to be fairly competitive at Medium level (ideally still in Elem points). Should also be a straightforward horse over a fence and suitable for doing a bit of fun Intro/PN on the side.

Idea would be to use the horse as a broodmare down the line, so recorded breeding, good basic confo and an outstanding temprement essential. She doesn't need to be a worldbeater but does need to be a classy amateur dressage/allrounder.

i'd recon about £12K+ at the top end of the age scale & currently competing with a decent record

for something a bit younger , say about 9/10 £15k+

Ahhhhhhh you describing Blossy??!! Except her breeding isnt recorded, but she would like more babies! lol

Seriously tho, i would say around the £7/8k mark depending on how good the breeding is.

I think you could get something for 8k quite easily.
Sold one of ours which was competing AM and had evented to I but bottled it at that level for 7.5k as a 9 year old

Thanks all,

I was hoping I might be able to get what I wanted for under 10K if I looked hard enough, but equally I think my task might be a lot easier if I had 15K in my pocket!
