I've had Ella on loan since May. She's a nervy type, takes a while to get used to people, and we've had a few interesting times while getting to know each other, but I have never once felt anxious while riding her. My old horse was a lovely girl, but she could be quite a challenging ride, and sometimes she could be downright scary...I've never felt scared when riding Ella.

She's far from being a dull plod, but she is never scary. She's just lively and fun, and she's a hoot to ride. She was diagnosed with arthritis in her knees last summer, and has had quite a bit of time off as a result. Then came the horrible weather, and even more time off. I havent had a chance to ride her since the beginning of December, so got on her yesterday with some trepidation. She was super, didn't put a foot wrong, and even stood nicely for me to get on which she has never done before. i love her so much. Thanks so much Jenni, for letting me have her!

Sounds like a lovely mare!
glad all is going well!

I had a little mare like that - brave as a lion and not for the faint-hearted but never dangerous and in all the time I had her, I never fell off. We did everything, so not for lack of derring-do did I remain on board. She passed away just before Christmas.

My other horse is much less whizzy and sharp, but prone to moments of idiocy and infantile behaviour. I love him, but he's not half the horse she was.
