And he was wonderful.....

Stood like a rock next to the block whilst his very unfit and un-coordinated mother got on top (one of the reasons I sent him off to the wonderful Astrid in the first place was that after 3 month of the origional trainer (!!!!!) having him I sat one afternoon watching her chase him round the school with a mounting block....She put it down he moved she moved the block get the idea!)

Then calmly stood whilst I fiddled about with strirrup leathers.

We started off on the line whilst Astrid explained the aids she has taught him then off we went on our own.....and he is sooo good calm, balanced trained to the lightest aids I had to keep repeating to myself no need for legs no need for legs.

As for the nerves thank god they did not happen, he feels so damn solid and calm underneath you (totally ignoring his pasture Pal who was running up and down screeching at him) that after 10 mins were were happy as larry and I was asking when I could take him outside

So yes it went well and I am going back tomorrow for another go.

Went to local tack shop to look for body protector and couldn't find one that would fit over my 36 GG boobs!!!! later went to a large retailer and I tried on a Kieffer which was horrendous (even OH said OMG you look like a star wars storm Trooper in it) and made me feel like I was wearing a straight jacket...so spent tonight looking up RP and Jockey Pro 2000. Trying to find a stockist in Holland if I can't I will sort one for when I am next in the UK.

Look at the airowear too - are better fit for ladies bumps than the RP!! They are designed with us girls in mind!

Oh indeedy

. RPs do not boobies cover (or at least not comforably!).

Well I hope you're younger and fitter than me, because I rode my horse yesterday for the first time in a month and now I can't blooming well move for a bad back!!!!!!!!!

So here's hoping you are up bright and bouncing (sorry, no reference to boobies there!) this morning, and not hobbling around like an old witch, like me

Scary thing is I don't ache anywhere except marginally in my buttocks and really oddly my biceps (put this one down to not assuming the rein holding postion for over a year

But have to say that after second go yesterday (and I have booked another lesson on Wednesday!) that the wonder that is Astrid has produced such an amazingly light responsive horse that it is unreal yesterday she had me riding surpentines after giving the instruction " keep your top half still give with the outside rein and just marginally point your tummy in the direction you want to go" cynical me though yeah yeah yeah prepare to use a bit of leg (big mistake turbo kicked in!) then I did as origionally told and was left going OMG how did we do that.

I can only describe it as driving an automatic after you have driven a stick shift landrover.

OH is well impressed though keeps saying how did you make him do that then.....My response ahhhh its magic
