Last Sunday Kevin became very subdued and then appeared to have problems with his back legs. He wouldn't walk and was very hunched up. Was walking on lead ok, out in the garden ok. peeing, eating, drinking etc ok, but not right moving indoors. Got to 8 pm and OH and I had got ourselves into a bit of a tizz. Rang the out of hours vet. Advised to bring Kev in straight away ( i am imagining stroke and all sorts :() Kevin showed vet that he was feeling absolutely fine :o. So we paid the 140 pounds fee that is not worth claiming for as have excess of 90 pounds plus and have to pay for vets report. I then had a light bulb moment. Weather had been awful so dogs not walked as far as normal (they are true lap dogs, they hate it) claws are looking a tiny bit longer than normal. We have laminate floor (soon to be changed ;) ). Kevin doesnt like walking on our kitchen floor when his claws are a tiny bit long. All fine now they are trimmed. Got to be the most expensive nail trim ever..:) Chihuahuas, Yep they are high maintenance. :) Love them though :)

Haha ,I've had two chis so really relate to your post. lately I've seenthat similar walk from my st poodle boy,but in his case it's when I've just washed the tiled floor.hes so afraid to slip he walks like he's got every ortho ailment you could think of...its a shock thefirst time you see it...then you rush for the dry mop,or in your case the nail.clippers.

Lol i would kill the little blighter!! I need to trim my staffies nails, shes walking a bit pottery at the mo on our stone floors.

I can't believe I didn't realise. I think me and hubby had got ourselves in such a state, seeing Kev's dramatic reaction to being asked to move. My husband now thinks I've trained Kevin to do this because I had mentioned I wanted a new kitchen floor:)
