Having spent over 2 years trying to hack out with nappy spooky cob, over the winter things slightly improved, however, the last two attempts at going out have been
a nightmare again, he was exactly the same this time last year. I think I will have to designate him a winter ride only!

Sorry to hear that! Any chance of taking the edge off him before hacking maybe, would that help? Or decreasing feeds *sorry if I'm suggesting things you've already done!

I've had bad hackers and by golly, it winds me up too!

He doesnt get feed! He's been on the transfer list since Ive had him, but he's such a nice character otherwise I cant let him go. I have been 100 yards today with 3 major spooks and two stops, then had to turn round as the blasted road repair people were filling in potholes and the road is too narrow to even get off and walk past !

Suggest you try giving him magnesium, as the grass tends to be deficient in it at this time of year and can send some loopy :)

Try Clop, my daughters mare bordered on the dangerous, especially in
spring, a year on, hundreds spent on checking her out, my daughter put her on this Clop and has a chilled out mare, hacking out in areas that used to trigger napping or bolting
What have you to lose
