I am still sat here in shock

Took the J monster for some dressage practise today, decided to go HC he has been so good over the last few days in the Mexican grackle and I didn't want to upset him (easily done - he is a very sensitive soul

)

Warmed up for prelim4, he felt lovely and light and up into my hands

No tantrums at all!!

Went in and he did a very sweet test with some really super bits. Spoiled it by being a tit about the last centre line (scoring a 4

) but over all was so much better than previous tests. Didn't expect much as were quite a few very smart horses there, and we were HC anyway so just wanted to improve on our percentage. He scored 65.8 %

if we had been competing then he would have come 3rd

He had some lovely comments, and got several 8's, just a shame about that last CL

So was quite happy to leave it at that really, but knew I would be in trouble if I didn't do the next test..... (prelim 13)

He warmed up a bit sluggishly but once I got him in the arena he lit up, did some super trot work (getting some 8's) and after an awful first canter transition he really knuckled down and worked and wow! So so impressed with him! Got an 8 for his second canter

(this is the horse that couldn't canter round corners when I bought him and just fell over

)

Finished and was over the moon with him, didn't care what we got as it felt awesome! Looked at the board to see we got 64.5 and would have won

I nearly fainted

So J is finally proving he is worth the hassle! I have a video of the second test but stupid computer wont upload it

Neil took some fantastic pro pics which I will post the link to when they are up

Heres one from when we were warming up (being a little bit naughty, but not too bad

Thanks, it is so nice to feel like all my work is actually achieving something finally. Was so sweet when I was warming up for the second test, one of the kids said how easy he looked, I have spent a year trying to make this horse look easy to ride when he is the trickiest thing I have sat on! So nice to have it noticed

Youll be fine.

I've discovered today after several long canters round a stubble field, lots of canter in the school aswell as the hack to and from the stubble field my horse can work nicely on the flat at the moment. Yay
