So set off at a resonable time today for Stilemans, got 2mins down the road and the lorry was making funny noises

so we turned around in Asda's went back to the yard for the yard owner to have a look around it, apparently it was just something in the fan, where it was so windy last night something had blown up

So load Dext again and off we go, little did I know that multimap AND AA route finder was to send up in completeley the wrong direction off the A3!! Cue MEGA stress going miles and miles out of our way missing my dressage! And hitting a road that had a 10ft bring!

(we dont do things by half!

) So I had to see mum back and reverse all the way up the road to turn around - we very nearly went home!! But phoned someone who said where to head which we did and we found our way eventually!!

So ran over to secretarys office and they managed to move my dressage - Thank you to them!

So now stop stressing and get him ready! Now bering in mind this is the pny who has been being placed BD, gained 5 points recently and I have been riding him in spurs WELL ot tpday! I had to take them off quick a pony bolted passed us and he could hear the water jump and was a little lively!!

Anyway warmed up well after that and did what I thought was a lovely test - he scored 45 !!!

Granted the majority were on 38-42 ish but still was a little annoyed!

Onto SJing - He had obviously realised he could stop a bit after Mondays naughty session with Nigel at Ely as stopped at the cross and the upright but gave him a boot with my spurs and upped the tempo a bit and he was much better but of course rode him a bit forward in teh ring and he b*ggered off in the combo to have 8 faults! (2 down) but was still pleased.

Onto the XC - now I was very very aprehensive about this as I thought Monday he had lost a bit of cofidence, I had to in him and to be honest wasnt expecting anything - as a result wasnt nervous at all and rode him properly and he was super duper!! He was clear and inside the time, so a great confidence boost and a great first outing despite the cr*p start!

Well done if you got this far!!! Have a Lucy Thompson SJ lesson next week to brush up on that then Grt Witchingham OPN - cant wait! It was very nice to be out there again today

What a day Holly!!!! Well coped!

How annoying about the dressage but there were so many fizzy youngsters and ponies there today and it was fairly chilly so didnt look that easy to do a good test although section C which i would have been in had several dressages in the early 20s!!!!!!

Sounds like you had a lovely positive XC round and all set for next event
grin.gif
Hope you have a good Lucy lesson

I used AA once to Stilemans and it sent us all round Guildford, big mistake!

Not a great day but some positives to take away and work on.

Well done.

Well done for finishing on a good note. Good luck for your next event. I was so glad my dressage competition was indoors today as I nearly got blown off warming up outdoor! I can't wait to start the season but I've still got 7 weeks to wait

I might have 3 horses to event though as my sister's just ruptured her knee ligaments so I might have to ride her horse. Only problem is me and him don't get on!

I don't think I've ever evented two on one day before as I've always had one injured

Hopefully this year both will stay sound but I'm not holding out much hope. I'm going to have to try and get on with my sister's horse but I'll be totally worn out riding 3 in a day. I don't know how the professionals manage 5 horses on both Saturday and Sunday. I certainly couldn't!

I missed most of the last two seasons so I'm so excited about this season.

well done for getting on with things!! many would've given up!! AA routefinder is the biggest pile of shite going......when i ask it for directions the location is usually unknown..and if by some miracle it found the end location, it made no sense at all, as routefinder can't even find it's way out of my own street!!!!! do what i did...invest in a good upto date road atlas, and keep it in the lorry - you won't go far wrong!!

eek at routefinder - I never trust that thing! Even if it gets you going in the right direction to start with, it tends to just drop you at then end. Maybe sat navs the way forward

Sounds like a good day though, welldone

Just had a look at your section and the dressage judge must have been looking for something 'different' Bee's friend was in it on a horse that has done intermediate and also came 10th in the Intermediate dressage at the PC champs last year. This girl is in her gap year working as an event groom , so riding lots every day and having pro instruction. She only scored 40.something but can easily get in the 20's.
