As some of you may know I have been off sick since suffering a Breakdown in December (anything to get out of cooking Christmas Dinner you may say;-)

I have been told by my Doc and Psychologist that I should be fit enough to go back to work in May. After a lot of discussion with my wonderful OH we have decided that I will instead hand in my notice and finish work at the end of May, meaning I can spend the whole of the Summer working alongside my trainer with a goal of getting Vardi sorted and settled and hacking out alone. I have spent today sitting alongside Jan and putting appointments in the diary for training sessions he has also offered that I can watch as many other sessions with other horses as I like and also if suitable get involved.

I am really looking forward to a 6 month horsey break and the opportunity to learn some real skills from some one who I admire and also a real opportunity to work with my horse and really deepen our bond.

Only thing OH has asked is that he never has to enter a supermarket again lol. I will look for a part time job in September so I still have the time to keep working with Vardi.

Feel really happy that after years of working silly hours and paying people to look after and bring on my horse and walk my dogs I will be in a position to do it all myself.

Sorry for the me me me post but just had to share

Excellent. Do have a wonderful summer. I've been a stay-at-home mum more 20 odd years. Last year I went back into paid work. I liked the money but home life and me time suffered. With husbands blessing I decided to give up the work. I now enjoy myself at home and with my horses. Moneys tight but we get by. Its less stress anyway. My Best Wishes to you.

That's really great - a summer of horses will be great therapy. I work on 3 days per week and that's just enough - and that is the money that pays for horsey things.

Enjoy your summer and good luck job seeking later in the year - but remember not to rush into it if you don't feel ready

What a wise decision, health before wealth. You are rich anyway in the way that matters by having such a supportive and lovely OH.
Enjoy your summer and have fun with Vardi.

A positive plan that you are really looking forward to will be better than any therapy or medication. I really hope all goes well and you go from strength to strength - what a lovely supportive OH you have!!

Hey fantastic plan.

I took a year out 12 years ago - and never quite made it back to work!! It has been the best 12 years of my life looking after horses, dogs .... and family.

Have a great summer.
