I have posted on here so many times about my girlie and I am glad to say we have found a treatment that works for her and keeps her sound and happy and I may get many more years with her than first thought. But I am always worried that I am going to break her and that something else will go wrong I always boot her up now for exercise warm up properly and cool down take good care of her feet and everything is double checked and I know somethings can not be prevented any way now I have rattled on she came in for winter last wed so she is very happy she hates being out doesnt like ruffing it any way last night the leg we have had all the problems with was a bit puffy just above her fetlock didnt go right up to her knee wasnt any warmer than the other leg no cuts nothing but definatley puffy all other legs looked fine thought maybe she has been pratting around in the field and twiked something any she didnt look lame so gave her yesturday off leg was a little smaller tonight but still puffy no heat either so again another night off but am I being paranoid or not I just dont know as I said she is not lame and she is very sensitive so doesnt normally take much to ae her lame thanks for getting this far more needed to get it off my chest and to know if I am not the only one who does this with their horse x

It's natural to be more worried when your horse has just recoved from serious injury/illness. It will settle down with time and you will find it easier to relax.

Regarding the leg swelling, is it going down with turn out and cold hosing? If not I would give the vet a call for his advice just to be on the safe side. If the swelling is going down I would give it another day or two (gentle exercise at walk may be good for it, but to be honest I would try to speak to the vet on the phone either way just to confirm!).

Not paranoid. Had a similar thing with a horse and it turned out to be a tiny puncture wound that needed antibiotics to sort out. If it isn't going down, don't delay - get the vet to have a look.

thanks guys it goes down a liitle after turn out and exercise there is no tenderness at all i have really poked it to see but still a little filled so going to ring the vet tomorrow for peace of mind she is weight bearing on it and seams herself ( she normally gets really grumpy when she has been lame before or uncomfortable ) and way will keep you posted hopefully I am just being and a paranoid mum x
