I really am.

We bought a horse for her a couple of months ago, to give her one of her own whilst her little pony Cloud was out of action having her foal. This horse is a western horse, never been ridden or trained English in his life.

Well my little 10 year old daughter has been working very hard with him over the past couple of months, teaching him how to go English and teaching him to jump, although admittedly he took to that wonderfully well. They have been working together almost every day and she has been jumping him at home over 3'3" so very pleased.

Anyway, as a bit of a reward for all of her hard work, I decided to take her to a little local show yesterday and she had a wonderful time. She entered the 2ft, 2ft 3, 2ft 6 and 2ft 9........and she was placed every time!! Woohoo! I'm really happy for her and her little face just made the day for me.

We got all of it on video and only a couple of photos, but here they are; jumping pic is just the 2ft I believe.

Yay well done to Megaribbon , nice to see a happy horse and rider out having fun and all credit to her for the retraining.

She's grown again though

That's wonderful Tia, amazing how much hard work kids are capable of putting in when they really set their minds to something, isn't it?
What a great result, after what is such a relatively short space of time, puts a lot of adults to shame that does!

LOL!! She had it on in the ridden classes but it was over 30 degrees celsius yesterday so she had her hat off a lot and her head was all hot and sweaty. The last piccie was taken just before we loaded up and I made her jump on quickly for the photo.

Thanks everyone - she really was so happy. It's only her second jumping show in her life, and I think she did well.

I know

. No she is going through this nasty phase where she likes to have her hair covering up her face.........

She really has put in the time - so she did deserve to go. I only told her at 9pm the previous evening so that she didn't get too excited.......nasty Mummy!

Well Done Megan

the proof is obviously in the pudding, she deserves her success after all that work.

Tia, is that Sunny/Taco?! What a fabulous colour he is, a real palomino

Thank you PG and everyone else.

Yes that is Sunny

. You should see Golden now!!

She is as dark and rich as Sunny....remember she was almost cream when I got her.

whispers........I think I am becoming sort of fond of palomino's ..... but don't tell anyone otherwise I'll lose my street-cred!

I still wouldn't have one for myself though LOL!!

Very well done - sounds like some hard and good work has paid off! Lovely to see!

She is very young, too, to have achieved such brilliant results. Double well done!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments to her MM. It was only a little local show though, but only her second ever jumping show so I think she did well too. They brought home 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th place rosettes and you can be assured that she was beaming from ear to ear.

For a little kid who's only ever had one half hour lesson in her whole life, she does not do too badly

Well done - does she fancy coming to the UK and helping with the Stinker - she is just the sort I am hunting for - lightweight, good rider and kind to help him start to do more while fat mummy slims down or he gets older and stronger

YAY!!!!!!!!

Look at all of those ribbons!!!!!!!!!
smile.gif

What a great day you all must have had! I'll bet those ribbons take a special place on her bedroom wall!
