OH is a part time freelance rider, who over the season has been hunting young horses, silly horses and what not. He is into his dressage and eventing... and fancy prancy ponies! If it is coloured, has feathers (fluff!) or any description or is anything heavier than a well built tb he gets all snobby about it... in a funny way!

Anyhoo Mr Cob has started becoming naughty as we have come into spring, including battering down a stable door (OH promtly fixed, luckily YO found it funny), having a lack of breaks and enjoying a good bouncy buck!

A couple of weeks ago, following a speight of head tossing, I didn't have time to go down and see to Cob due to work... OH actually offered to ride him for me. Now I thought this was strange, he has never offered, ever! He schooled him in the field for me and after a huge paddy on Mr Cobs part he apparently went lovely....

OH now offers on a regular basis to ride him  and has today jumped him... and I saw him stood talking into Cobs ears and babying him afterwards. I asked him if he had enjoyed it, the reply "thats the most fun I've had for ages, he goes like stink! I didn't realise cobs were so much fun" He has now asked me if he can have a little jump on him next week... for fun, and has gone to far as to suggest that he would like to look for a middle-heavy weight for himself next year as he loves him that much. He also used the words talented but challenging to describe him!

OH is a very tall lanky, leggy 11stone 6'2"... on a 15hh heavy weight coloured cow... sorry cob lol, it looks funny! I don;t think OH can believe it himself that he likes a cob!

Fabulous!
Another one for the side :p

Can't believe people do not like cobs! Can be the easiest horses to ride- or the hardest.
But they always keep you safe and give you a great laugh! :D:D

Oh yes, Mr Cob is definately a character! He's a laugh a minute clown. Had a paddy before, as I accidently jabbed him in the mouth and dumped me in the field, caught him (he stopped for a mouth full of grass) and got back on, and I swear he felt guilty about it even though it was my fault! He plodded about and looked after me for the rest of the session.

That is just like my oh, he is 6 foot 2 and slim, and always likes the I am going to die TB rides..... mocked the carthorse (his words) UNTIL......

He tried a friends cob who was very forward going, I might add the first cob he had ever ridden, then spend a season hunting another forward going cob, and guess what!!!! We sent the loan TB home and bought a 2 yr old skewbald Cob!!!!!!!!!

Seems once you try a cob you get converted!!:D

I hunt my cob twice a week he's always up front till the end of the day you can't bully a cob its a true saying he's got a cob on the more love you give them the more they give back I love my little coblet !!!!!!!!!!!!
