So I've been on HHO for awhile now and I love the picture gallery, especially when people post SJ & XC pics.

I am constantly awed by you guys, to name a few: BBs, Bossanova, Weezy, PF, Rosiie, katiejaye, Forrest....pretty much any of you who jump! I mean HOW HIGH!

Anyway, my point. I blame you lot. I've seen your pictures and just itched to get back into jumping. I had an accident five years ago while show jumping and facing a jump on horseback turns me to jelly. Never jumped since. With a bit of a quesy stomach I've booked a jumping lesson.

So I may not be clearing 1.30 anytime soon, but hopefully I will manage a small crosspole or two without injuring myself

Oh well done you

Just stick within your comfort zone, do NOT allow your instructor to bully you over anything higher than you want to do (gentle persuation, however, is fine

as a previous nervous nelly I can totally understand where you are coming from.I had a jumping accident when I was schooling a horse and it put me off jumping for 2 years. When I returned like you I was very worried about it but with the right horse my confidence has returned and 2 years on I am now happy jumping a 1mtre course of showjumps although the thought of the same height x country turns me to a total wreck still. So well done to you and good luck with it.

Thanks! I shall update and maybe post pictures if I'm feeling brave.

I did have a lesson about 2 months after my fall and the instructor called me an 'bloody idiot' and really tried to push me into things. (even after I told her I was nervous as hell) I was put off for ages after that!

I originally phoned to book a lesson for OH, but the woman was wonderful and chatted to me for ages about my issues so I thought I should just go for it!

Yes, my instructor is all strapped up after an op on her shoulder and won't be back in work for a while yet.

I've just moved to a new yard, so ideally would like someone to come out, but I can travel if I need to.
Which riding school are you going to? PM me if you'd rarther.
I'm going to join riding club, they have Margot tiffeny, who is lovely; and someone at my old yard had Damian Midgley out and he was v good- I missed it though.
