She done me proud taking the pony out on a solo hack today. Since nearly being run into by a car who 'thanked god' for me wearing high viz I've been moaning and moaning about wearing high viz and she finally starting taking me seriously and I love her even more for it :D

And leading by example the other day was me and the pony :o

I was wondering where this thread was going with the title!! Hi viz makes such a difference and is illustrated perfectly in picture 2 :)

Excellent news!
picture 2 - highviz needed on the pony tho.
Not only does it make you even more visible, should you become detached from said pony it might avoid a major RTA or at the very least help you find the pony!

I've got a brilliant mesh sheet that is great when too warm for waterproof one.

Like this mesh you mean - I never go out without it. And I don't usually have the black on either.

Well done with the schooling of your sharer :)

It's nice when they listen, our rider couldn't see the point of hi viz,I ended up just saying if you go off the yard, it's hi viz for you and the horses, came home around dusk to find our rider riding one and leading one down the drive, all had hi viz on and got to say it was the hi viz that caught our attention, result

Yes I find it frustraing that people just dont see the colours they wear and the colours around them and with poor light just how much they all blend together. I nearly run some stupid women over this morning at 0700 walking on the road coming towards me all in dark clothes ... She was walking by a grass verge so no doubt valued not getting her shoes wet over her own life!!!

Love this! Where did you get it from? Im currently not riding anything but when my younsters backed the only place is roads, so will need to go shopping :)

No one is allowed to ride my horse's on the road without hi viz. It's the only thing where there's no negotiation.

I'd be all for it being made law for riders to have to wear hi viz on the road.

The other night I was driving home from my yard (it was around 7pm, country lane, no streetlights so almost pitch black), came round a blind bend to find a horse and rider jig jogging sideways down the middle of the lane. On a blind bend. Not a bit of light coloured clothing, never mind hi viz. Gave me the fright of my life. What a numpty!

I must admit, since my accident, I get very very offended when people (especially from our yard) and who kniow exactly what happened to us, dont wear hi vis! i mean, how much effort does it actually take to put a hi vis vest on?

Re mesh sheet....My one is by Vbandz. It's ace as it also has a tail flap with reflective on that Velcros round the tail to stop the sheet flying up :)

In the early 90s I had stretchy neon leg bandages, tail bandage etc. The colours were cool at the time, they went with my global hypercolour t shirt. Shame it isn't as fashionable these days. Well done on breaking the sharer!
