I am having no interest at all in my Sec C (black in sig) I go to study in Edinburgh in september and running out of time to find him the perfect new mum! I don't want to leave it last minute incase it doesn't work out and I'm stuck trying to find someone for him while i'm up there.

He really is a super boy, nice temperment and no real hang-ups bar being 5yrs old. He hacks nicely, schools well and jumps confidently. I have let loads of people know, put adverts up in local tack shops and am just hoping through word of mouth someone will come through..

Is there a shortage of people wanting to loan at the moment?
Does anyone know of anywhere I could advertise online relatively cheaply?

Are you saying that he has to stay at present yard cos that can put people off? x

Well he is kept at our own yard so he could stay here as a livery but I haven't specified in the advert as for the right person he could be moved

Thanks for the reply.

There does seem to be a shortage of people looking to loan atm tbh.
Try advertising him on newrider.com - it gets plenty of traffic (and not just new riders either!)
Once you have figured out the wording of your online advert put it on here and you might get some useful suggestions about how to improve it.

I really really wish i could be shorter! Cant offer any more advice then anyone else - but good luck - and should i shrink overnight (i know its a longshot) i'll let you know!

Defo say if he can move or not! Have you said how long the loan is for?

I would love to loan out a horse but my two issues I have is not being able to move to my yard (that has fab facilities!!) and also putting all that work and money into him/her and then having his owner turn up and take him/her away!

Can you see what I mean?

I completely see what you mean, I would hope that after speaking to myself personally/meeting me and the pony any loaner would be suitably satisfied i'm not that kind of person and that I've worked hard to make him a good allrounder for someone

I certainly wouldn't expect him to be a world class competition pony when I got him back but neither would I expect his education to have gone down the pan so to speak, lol.

I'm at Uni for four years, so it could be a relatively long term loan, although if I found someone that only wanted to take him on for a year or so for any particular reason that could be suitable. I would have the contract to run for a 12 month period and to be redone after each year as thats what we've done with our other pony and its worked well.

I hoped that would all sound reasonable?

Try horsetoloan.com

Or try googling horses to loan and see what sites come up when people put that in - may give you a better idea of where to advertise.

I'm in the exact same situation, I have a 13.2hh mare, and no one seems to want her

She is an amazing showjumper, and could be brilliant with a confident small child, however at that height, people seem to want push button first ponies

My daughter was selling her horse but had a change of heart and put her up for loan instead - whereupon she got over 100 replies in 3 days - this was only last month. Have you tried the pony club website?
