I cant believe I did this

Went to 2nd round trialblazers on saturday and did Prelim 12. Was going well until I rode the test wrong

My friend was even reading it out and for some reason i thought my 20metre canter circle at B was a half circle and didnt realise Id done it wrong until I was almost at C so cut across quickly

I cant believe I did it as I have practiced so much and even competed on this test. So first half of test was all 6's with the odd 7, then after my mistake (which was marked a 4) I got all 5's as I got all flustered and Baron went all tense. I was so gutted as they were marking low and winner was only about 65 so would have had a good chance of being in first 5 and qualifying if I hadnt rode it wrong.

I know this test well and practiced loads of times but for some reason I was really nervous, perhaps because I hadnt ridden at that centre before, which it why I think i rode it wrong.

So im totally gutted, but we do have another chance to do 2nd round at the end of may at the centre where I take him for lessons so hopefully will do better then.

aw hun, that sucks big style and i totally sympathise with you there. I rarely go wrong in a test but when i do i normally go wrong twice!!!

Its only the 4th time Ive competed him in dressage and we were doing so well

At least we got some nice comments 'lovely horse with loads of potential and good paces'

Im sure I wont be making that mistake again

Oh boo - poor you. Sometimes you can get a bit of a mental block when the pressure is mounting. Fingers crossed for the end of may.
