Not a horse related injury, but one which prevents me from riding!
Have a painful injury/condition called osteitis pubis, it hurts my pelvis, can't ride at the mo with it, my boy has had a nice holiday in the field for the last 3 weeks but i really want to ride. We were really making so much progress with dressage and had just started jumping! :(
And have just been told there is a 26 week (!!:mad:) NHS waiting list to see the consultant. BUT if I pay I can see him next week (£200 to see him privately for a session). So feeling a bit low and depressed tbh! :'(

They're going to try and prescribe me some meds, which if they work, I will hopefully be back in the saddle fairly soon, but if not then I don't know when I'll be able to ride, so need to find someone to exercise him for me too :( And it hurts when I muck out, carry haynets, etc, but I can't afford any assisted livery.
Sorry for this feeling sorry for myself post but I've heard the horse and hound vibes can do wonders so if anyone wants to send any my way would be much appreciated! Thanks for reading :) xx

Loads of vibes on the way from me and my lot in spain.
Hope it feels better soon, I am sure a physio could help or advise you on this and some rehabilitation. You need to get an opinion on whether there are underlying causes that make it worse so I guess the consultant is a must. Have you had x rays etc yet?

Thanks for the vibes, im sure i feel them already ;)
No, they are refusing to give me an X-ray as im 17 so they say it could be harmful for ovaries etc...although this is ridiculous as i'm in loads of pain, if i had broken my pelvis they would be x-raying no problem, grrr. I have had an MRI though which picked up severe inflamation. Seen lots of physios & osteopaths who don't know how to treat it :( But this consultant is the specialist who might know a way forward, fingers crossed...i'm just shocked/outraged that there is a 6 month waiting list unless you can pay  :( x

Oh honey that sucks, really hope they can find you some drugs to ease the pain while you wait for appointment.

Lots of vibes coming from me (and from my cat Snow as she is sat on my knee & is a sympathetic kind of cat :))

Will it be the same consultant you see either way?

(((very gentle hugs, & purrrr from Snow)))
