My supposed to make 14.2hh or there abouts sports pony (out of a 14.1hh 75% arab mare by a warmblood stallion) measured at 14.3hh today and hes only 18 months old! Hes also doing a pretty good impression of a baby cob! Huge joints, loads of bone, big bum, just generally overall 'solid'. His dad has Oberon lines so hes obviously some sort of irish throwback!

I suspected 6 months ago that he might be pretty big so when I bought a foal I looked for one that should make 14.2hh/15hhs give or take. I bought Seven who is supposedly Sec D x coloured TB type. Mum was 14.2/3hh, dad was 15hh, apparently...

He is currently standing a good 13.3hh at rising 9 months old and is currently sprouting copious amounts of feather and again is resembling a brick outhouse! I suspect I didnt get the whole truth about his parentage!

This is all very tongue in cheek as I am truly blessed to own two such quality youngsters and they make me soo happy, but I just wish they'd stop growing! :D There must be something going on with my field as everything we put out there sprouts up! If anyone has a youngster that isnt looking like its going to make the height send it my way :D

Lol, imagining 2 babies getting bigger & broader as you keep peeking through the hedge with an increasingly horrified expression

almost :D except that its 4 youngsters growing in front of my eyes, literally! My denial means that we are forced to measure them occasionally to confirm that I havent, in fact shrunk, its just that they have grown :D I find the best way to deal with them is to see my sisters 17hand Trak first, they seem positively teeny compared to her :D

I am ashamed to say that today, I exclaimed in horror thinking Prides off fore was swollen and filled, then I looked at his other legs and realised they all were filled. On closer inspection, he'd just put down bone :D

I've just uploaded pics from today, to facebook, the ones taken when the rising 2 yr olds arrived you can clearly see me when I'm stood behind them, the ones from today, all you can see is my head peeping over them :D

Love it dexter, I have a weed too!!! Although mine keeps going up and not out!!! He's already overtaken mum at rising 2 years old!!! I would wonder if the semen got mixed up, mum, black, 15.2 put to a bay, 16.1, offspring is chestnut and at 2 is already over 15.3!!!

Ours like to mix it up. Sometimes they look small and chunky, then they look all gazelle like and leggy! I keep telling myself that they are growing a lot now and will slow down. I've been telling myself that for nearly a year :D

the images just keep coming lol.

My boy will be 1 at the end of the month, he is growing tall and has decent bone but he is 1/2 RID so no surprises, he was always going to be a big lad. Just hoping he doesn't overtake his 17hh 'manny' at any stage.

I own the mother of the slightly smaller rising 2 yr old. Shes a midget, she measured in as 148cms several times and has a life height certificate, but MUST be smaller! We keep commenting on how most SJers are well over height, because if she is a true 148cms, then the youngsters heights dont bare thinking about!! :D
