I rode the Neddy-pony out again
When I went to catch him, all the horses were in high spirits due to strong winds. He saw me, did a massive buck (I was on the other side of the field) and started thundering around with the other horses. He galloped in to one of the show jumping rings and popped 3 jumps haha!! What an odd horse. He stopped after his little 'round'
and let me catch him.
Again, no messing around in the yard! I could tell he was considering it, but thought better of it.
The in-hand walk was uneventful, the scary trailer was gone and we had no issue.
We stopped at the raised bit of ground again, but he knew what I was planning. He was being a difficult little monkey!!! It took a while, but eventually I got on.
He decided he'd rather go home, but I told him no and he gave in.
We had a trot!!! I've never done anything more than a walk (hence why I say 'our walks' rather than 'our hacks') he was such a good boy
a nice steady trot.
We got to the turning point, where we head down a little muddy track, but as it had rained a lot, I didn't fancy it. He threw SUCH a strop!! Mini-rears, fancy sidewards trotting and things like that. Whipping didn't help, squeezing didn't help...but for some reason, flapping really did! We were off again!
It's quite a busy little town, lots of traffic, so it was going to be a big test.
He wasn't bothered by all the traffic, but did try and follow some women in suits! They seemed quite impressed by his rear when I told him no haha!
I decided, since I was pushed for time that I would go around the roundabout and head back the way we'd come. A bus pulled up at the bus stop and let about 20 people off...his eyes were on stalks! He obviously couldn't comprehend where all these people were coming from.
Then he saw her...
...a woman in a full burqa! Since it was so windy, she was flapping about all over the place. He shied slightly and watched her like a hawk until we'd got a safe distance away
silly pony!
The way home was quite eventful. We saw one of those ride-on lawn mower things that looks more like a hovercraft, several vans, tractors with massive loads...he was very good past all of them! Thankfully the lawn mower man was very kind and turned his engine off
We met a leaf blower and hedge trimmer, they were so kind and both turned their machines off and smiled. I thanked them and told them he wasn't used to being out alone and how much I appreciated what they did
He was very lively on the way home, he was obviously nervous and wanted to get home, but he never broke out of walk. He was very nice and restrained
Another good day for Em and Ned!!
