So I posted late last night as I was pondering whether to take stanley to a nervous and novice jumping competition despite a forecast of wind and rain.....well, I took him. It was windy but the heavy showers held off and only really felt the odd spot of rain. He flew round the clear round so I decided in for a penny, I would enter the first timers class. He flew round again, got into the jump off and then we came 5th! They were only tiny and a simple course but am so so proud of my little boy. He loved it... and actually so did I! Thanks to all for encouraging me last night. :)

Well done for getting on with it anyway, this very windy weather could be a great excuse but I bet you feel on top of the world right now:D

Well done you! The first time is always the scariest so well done for making that leap (literally) :)

Thanks All - so very pleased. :D

Blairandazria - Nervous and novice was such a good idea. THere were quite a few younger children on ponies but also a good smattering of adults with young horses and adults who are a bit nervous and would be put off entering a "normal" competition. Might be worth suggesting to your local riding club or competetion venue. I think the organiser was really pleased with the uptake.
