yesterday i put in my entry for dressage on sunday (good yer been wanting to do it for ages) this morning i wake up and my shoulder is agony, me being me go it will wear off as the day goes on so i go down and muck out as usually nearly in tears. come home doing the shopping and it still isn't letting up. its not muscle pains either.

if it hasn't gone tomorrow i will have to go to the doctors. will be gutted if i can't do this dressage as i have waited 2 years to be able to do this on my lad.

It might be trapped nerve/muscle spasm? I've just had this very conversation with my physio as I get this sometimes - cause uncertain. Chiro sometimes helps, but she said (and tbh I agree) that the most important thing is to stop it hurting asap, as if you leave it the pain results in more tension and spasm and it just takes longer to settle. My last episode was a couple of weeks ago - I couldn't move head or arm without wanting to cry. It took about three days to settle to a comfortable level, but could still improve

My failsafe painkiller combination is x1 diclofenac and x2 co-codamol 3 times daily - and ice or heat if you think either will help. They don't seem to make much difference to me. You could try very gently moving the shoulder around as well to see if it will loosen off.

Hoping that you are right by the weekend

I had this a few weeks ago - the pain was excruciating - i thought i must have done some serious damage - i went to chiro and it was agony her touching it and didnt help at all and cost me £40- spoke to my aunt who is a paramedic who told me to take ibuprofen and it worked a treat - next day all better. But i really feel for you - i couldnt even lay down to sleep for a few days and had to sleep sitting up!

Chiro! And Ibuprofen if you can take it. Warm bath or ice pack, whichever works for you (I'm weird, only warmth works - cold makes everything very much worse

).

All crossed that you're okay hun. Have a gentle hug and a hot choccy.
