Vet xrayed my boy today and appears he has a small fracture either in the pedal bone or the cartiledge. This only showed on one x ray so they can't be sure exactly where it is. Pedal bones not totally level in both feet. So he needs egg bars but because wall is so crap and he cannot go with out shoes he's having glue on ones to help grow some quality wall so we can then have remedial shoeing. Poor boy, but vet did say with pain killers he could go out because he's better when moving....so thats what I've done

I'm gutted, I just don't know how much more bad luck I can take not just horsey stuff but life in general

btw anyone had any success with glue ons and how much???

I had glue ons for a lami pony and they really were a life saver for him. So much kinder for sore feet for whatever reason you need them, and he grew some really good hoof while they were on. Had 3 pairs, each lasted easily for 5 weeks - farrier wanted to come that often to correct the shape of the hoof, but they would have stayed on 6 weeks easily.

They cost £110 for two fronts, but it did the job then we went back to nail ons.

Always darkest before dawn, as they say. Sorry can't help further, but hope things improve.

Sorry to hear about your boy.
I had glue-ons put on by Andrew Poynton who is one of the best. They were approx. £180 for fronts only.
Best of luck.

Don't know if it's the same but my boy has a tear in his deep digital flexor tendon and my farrier today used glue to raise his heels.

It's set like a sort of resin half shoe he has on now and seems to be ok. Vet came out to check and he's happy with it.

Farrier mentioned that he sometimes does a whole shoe using this glue for horses that can't take a shoe so it might be an idea to ask your farrier if he does have this stuff as an alternative.

Know how you feel at the mo. I keep thinking this every day but you just get on with it as there is no other choice when you love your horse and want to do the best for them.

Big hugs!!!
