..but I have a question.
Now, I don't know much about dogs, but I can understand why people don't particularly like to pick up their dog's poo when on walkies.
What I can't understand (and want you to explain to me) is why some dog owners carefully pick up poo after their dog, bag it, then leave the plastic bag lying?
And no, they don't collect it on their way back.
Please enlighten me.
S :D

Marvellous question! I can never understand why people go to all the effort to put it in a bag to then leave in dangling off the nearest bush!

They hang the little bags up near us, looks lovely hanging from a hedge/fence/tree at eye height

If they aren't going to take it home with them I'd rather they didn't bag it to preserve it. Don't they know how long it takes for a plastic bag to biodegrade?????

But the only dogs I've ever walked were trained to only go in their own gardens, so it wasn't an issue.

I have no idea and it also perplexes me and I often find little orange and blue bags swinging on trees, out in the woods - surely 'better' that in mulches down into the soil, than suspended in a bag that will last for decades?!
Where we walk, my dogs are trained to hop off the path and go in the scrub and then I bury or cover it.

I have left bags behind and gone back to collect them in the past but it is easy to forget and if I walk on the beach or on hard surface/public areas I carry them with me, which can be quite difficult when also trying to manage two arsey dogs on leads :p

I'm not an offender myself lol but maybe there are no bins around and they can't be arsed to carry it.
I've never managed to catch anyone doing it to ask them but whatever their reason, there's no excuse.

Better to leave it to rot than fall on someones head

Henry dumps his load in the middle of the road - quite literally. I can't tell you how many times I have nearly been killed trying to scoop the poop!:rolleyes:

To decorate the place, you can get some really pretty sh!t bags these days, some have lovely patterns on them, they create a lovely multicoloured border in the fields or bridle paths, and make the trees look stunning:D
Of course there is another theory...people are lazy B£"$%^£*S;)

I have occasionally left a bag and picked it up on the way back, but agree loads of people seem to pick up and dump which seems bizarre. Mind you had to do a burying job yesterday. Took Evie to the beach and she consumed rather too much seawater, with the expected result. No way could I have picked up what she produced, thank heavens we were at a deserted part of the beach and the tide was coming in fast. Too fast as it turns out but thats another story involving a bit of paddling.:o

You scud:eek:

Well we have all made a nice sand castle type heap and burried the sh!t in the dungeon below:D:D

This is one of my pet hates, but i have a theory, there are lots of people about, so owner decides to pick up poop incase anyone is watching, when everyone is out of sight, owner throws bag of poop in hedge, end of theory.

This has become such a problem here that the National Park have been putting these signs up at strategic places

:D

I detest poo bags, I think they are vile and disgusting - obviously vital in a residential area but not for round here - there are literally piles of them all over the place, chucked over hedges, stuffed in trees - what on earth are these people thinking?

Pooh bags hanging from the trees and left at the side of the path is a common practice here and its so inane!!! What are people thinking, especially those walking dogs on the salt flats where the tide comes in daily. I do the above if doggy poos in on the pathway, flick into the undergrowth. if its in town well its a poo bag and into the bin.
I think some people are either really thick, or just not environmentally aware, ie they think they are doing the right thing leaving the poo in a bag for someone else (who) to collect !!

Great post Shils!
