I've just had a text message off of a previous loan asking if they can view her tomorrow to buy. I said that they were welcome but now i'm starting to freak out.
I had taken all over her adverts down, bar one that had been up for months and no one had called on. Her previous loan had seen this and decided to text me.
I do need to sell her, but i've been taking my time, playing it by ear to see if i can afford her, a car and to move out which i will be faced with at the start of next year. I just didn't think i'd have so little time with her!
Ahh! I've never even had a viewing before let alone having to face that if they want her she might be gone in a matter of days!

So what do i do, sell now and possible regret it if it turns out i could have kept her or wait and run the risk of having to seriously compromise on her price to get a fast-ish sale. She'll never be homeless or have the quality of the home compromised , so i won't have to sell too quickly.
I just don't know!

Can you not discuss loaning her with them, you obviously know and trust them with her. Perhaps you can agree a trial loan for three months or so, just so everyone is certain. That way you don't lose the option of a good home and have a bit of breathing space to assess things.

A trial! Wonderful idea! I got so scared i was going to lose her and once in a lifetime grazing (down the road from my house, highly sought after)
Theres an underlying issue also, i do not trust her to give her a good home, she only loaned for a couple of months and didnt turn up for half of the dates so i asked her to leave. She could be a lovely owner but as this would be her first horse i have no previous record to go off

As you do not seem to think that his person would give your horse a good home, why are you considering loaning to them?? Never mind selling. Don't mean to sound harsh but it just seems unrealistic for your horse. Do you have other reasons for thinking that she wouldn't give your horse a good home- other than not turning up?

No way would I loan or sell a horse to someone who isn't committed.

I think I would tell this person you have a had a rethink. If you decide. You are ready to sell, the right person will come along and it doesn't,t sound as if you would be happy with these people having her. X

i feel your pain, someone's coming to view my boy tomorrow, I actually put the phone down after talking to them and sobbed my heart out. I got off him out hacking today because he was being a poof about pushing through some gorse and made me take the spikes, then just stood there sobbing my heart out again, it's a very hard decision to make. I'm hoping my boy will tell me if it's right or wrong, i'll be watching him tomorrow like a hawk.

I have been trying to sell a pony for 8 months now. A family that have seen her advert and videos say they want her . They havent seen her, not tried her. She said she cant come and see her as they have no transport . She wants me to deliver her and they will pay when I get her there.
They seem quite shocked that I wont do that, I have put on the ad that home is more important than price and I mean it.. Goodness knows where she would end up as she is way underpriced I think.

These types would be the first to complain when something went wrong....

Same. Shocking that some people are willing to.

All the above... I didn't realise you had any misgivings about them... If you do, don't entertain the idea, keep your mare until you are happy to part with her and to the right people

Thank you, no i don't think shes right for her. I think as soon as non horsey family found out id had a call to buy they pressured me to just 'get rid'.

I took all of her adverts down and booked a lot of different arenas and shows for this year to get her out and seeing the world. The transport booking alone has cost hundreds so i think i'll continue with me plan of taking my time.

Many thanks,
