Some of you know that on monday i was riding on my own in the field and I fell off, and the horse then stood on me.

Now I dont want to ride in the field on my own, I feel so silly for feeling this. My confidence has taken a knock - and it takes quite a lot to knock my confidence

I know it is very silly to feel like this, very irrational i know

I feel rather silly for even saying that I dont want to ride in the field on my own.

So how do I overcome this? help please!

your not being silly, it is understandable you feel this way.
mayb ask someone to be there with you when you ride til you're confident again.

I'd say it is best not to ride on own in field anyway as anything can happen, as it did in your case. For safety sake always have someone around when riding. And your not silly!!!!!

its not silly, youve had a nasty fall and its frightened you, so this is completely understandable. i know not everyone has the option to ride with others, and alot of people have to ride alone. maybe you could get a friend on foot to watch you in the field for some support, or go with other horses until you feel ready to be alone again?

spelling is not my strong point

Your not being silly at all being alone when you have a fall is quite scary and i would feel exactly like you do. Im lucky my dad always comes and sits in the field with me especially as i'm always taking a tumble off D, last one resulted in me being in a&e all the following morning and at the moment he's even following in the car when I go for a hack as he's being a prat. Id rather have my dad there if anything goes wrong than be lying in a field on my own. Hope you find someone that can help and sit with you and you will get your confidence back, just take your time.

echo all the above, your not being silly at all - you ride to enjoy it not be scared, so let someone come and walk with you untill you feel confident again. I dont ride my youngsters out on my own any more if I can help it, if I have to I ring a mate and say if i dont ring you back in an hour come pick me up! makes me feel better anyway!

Not silly at all, when I fell off on a hack it took me a long time to go back to the place it happened. I took someone with me on foot and once I'd done that , it did feel better. I would just see if there is someone who will come up to the field whilst you ride for the next few times until you feel more confident.

It is totally understandable to feel like this. It is a matter of building up your confidence slowly. If that means having someone walking alongside you or even putting you on the lead for a while it will be worth it in the long run. X

Not silly at all, perfectly normal!!! Start with something you are happy to do, e.g. ride in the school or ride in company, and build up your confidence slowly until you are ready to try somethign else.
