From South Somerset district bloody council household "recycling centre" (or the tip!).........why you might ask?

Because I used 4x dengie hi fi bags to store my house waste to transport to the tip and therefore it was agricultural waste and I had to pay for its collection from my house!

I mean this was 4 bags:
1 had shavings bags in it, 1 had milk bottles for recycling, 1 had bailer twine and the other had a dog bed!

They're a nightmare, we had one of them people who are there to 'educate' you about recycling that didnt want to let me up the steps and wanted to rip open our bags last time we were there so that he could be sure we were doing the right thing. Before he had the chance i did my best hammer throw and lobbed them in from the bottom of the steps. He was not impressed, but tough sh*t, i dont go there to be educated, and i know about bl00dy recycling!

no way! I always use hi-fi bags to take stuff to the tip! I recycle everything I can there but use the bags for transport, better than big bags as they dont rip.

You should have double wrapped them in normal binbags to escape detection- and to hell with the planet!

Horses aren't classed as agricultural, so you could have got them on a technicality. Not that Jobsworth's can be shaken from their steadfast position of eyes shut and fingers in their ears...

I'd be fuming, too.

I took a load of household waste to my local recycling centre - but I took it in the back of my very small horse lorry as I also had packed all my furniture in at the same time so 2 jobs in one go - I got a telling off as the lorry meant it wouldbe classed as industrial waste, I tol them they were welcome to look at it as it clearly was household. What a load of jobsworth nonsense! If I' taken it in 2 runs in the car or even a transit van they would say nothing.
