I decided to take Neddy out alone again today, so I set off early so I could catch YO. I saw YO and she was just taking her son to school. I asked her if she could help me get on and she said she would when she got back.
I did some jobs, tacked up and walked him back and forth threw the gate. YO returned and held him. He side stepped and got a telling off. She presented him again and he stood like a rock! Good pony :)
I thought he may mess around on the yard, but nope! He walked right out :D
We walked through the village and he had a little spook at a builder who popped up from behind a wall, but that was the only one :)
We had few nice trots and came to a strip of grass...I braved it...I had a canter! I have never done more than a little trot. He was so good! I had good breaks and he wasn't really looking at anything, wanting to spook :)

As we were coming along the last stretch of road, 3 cyclists came up behind me. He was being a bit 'looky' so I turned him to face them. He saw what they were and was fine. They said "Sorry mate, didn't see you!" Bare in mind, I am covered head to toe in hi-viz!
I replied "Oh, that's ok!"...then I got the sarcasm...D'oh!!! By that time they had gone, haha!

I'm so so so so so proud of him!!

Now for the browband :D I thought I'd make a fancy one this time :D

Well done for the schooling session - sounds like it is all starting to come together.

Sorry, browband is not my cup of tea though ... ;-)

Mcnaughty - I hope we can carry on like this! He'll be a pro at it in no time :D
Hehe, I don't think it'll be many people's cup of tea, but I think it's jazzy XD

CalllyH - It's not actually that tight, he was trying to get over to me as I had treats in my pocket :P It was literally only round his neck to take the picture.

It's on the last hole, it doesn't need to be on the last hole and I wouldn't have stopped to take photos with it like this. I'm not having a dig just giving some advice :)

I was always taught to untie the lead rope if putting the headcollar around the neck so if they do pull back it just slips to go with them and you can still grab it :)

But anyway! He looks sweet bless him :D how did you make the browband?

That's not a bad idea actually, never thought to untie and hold :) thanks!

The browband was surprisingly easy! Just a stripe of lace, piping, a coin from a necklace and some superglue :D

Circe - Thanks :) He was so good! Actually seemed to enjoy being out and about :D I've never been scared of his breaks, but I fell off last time he had a big spook in canter (he fell too, it was scary but we were both unhurt) so it kinda put me off! So glad I did it though :D

Jeez its on baler twine and he's clearly stretching the rope by heading towards camera, how on earth would be manage to break his neck?! Well done on the canter! Bless him sporting his new browband, is it an actual browband underneath it looks sort of scalloped? I did start making one last night... It's in a tangle on the floor haha!

He's pulled back before when the alarm went off in the tack room, the lead rope and twine both snapped and he didn't even pull that hard, so I'm not that worried :)
Yup, there's a browband underneath, I literally just superglued it on hehe :P
Haha!! Oh dear XD

It doesn't surely matter how loose the head collar, it might be too big for him on the top hole it wouldn't make the slightest difference to that photo, the point is he is stretching the rope as far as it would go to get towards Nah who is right there taking a pic. It's hardly dangerous.

My mare has a cob head collar on but it has to be on the tightest hole to fit, if she has a pony one on the last hole it is too small...

Well done on your hack Nah and the browband looks great :)
