When I picked OH up from work earlier one of his customers was trying to sell his spinger x bernese mountain dog puppies. I literally had to pick my jaw up off the floor before why on earth he wanted to breed them. His answer? They had a girl springer and a boy bernese and wanted puppies.... *ARGGGGGGGGGGGGH* Ended up with six puppies, only wanted one so are selling teh rest in time for christmas.

Can you imagine something the size of a bernese with the brain of a spinger?

On another note theres a 14 month old spinger for sale in teh local paper for £40 as it needs more training, advert stresses its crate trained - probably coz it eats the house when let out of the crate.... GRRRRRRRR

Hmm, prize for the best name for this designer breed!
What bloomin idiots, what on earth would be gained by crossing those breeds. I really hope they can't sell them and spend there Christmas in the midst of puppy poo!

I quite like Spingese

Or maybe Binger

OH suggested Springese Spantain

I hope they spend all Christmas surrounded by poop too but crossing everything they all go to good homes - it will be nicer for the puppies, he had the mum with him and she wasn't very nice.

I have a Bernese X Cav King Charles that was an accident but is actually an amazingly good cross! Now granted my fellas parents are award winning stud dogs that got loose on the one day and had a one night stand but Boots my fella is a great mix. He is a bit dippy, has some "bear of very little brain moments" but can also be surprisingly intelligent...eg when it was snowing the other morning instead of going out and getting cold he stood in the door way and cocked his leg iver the step lol while it is an irresponsible thing to do to breed the way they did it could turn out brilliantly!

What, both parents are stud dogs? That cross must have taken a lot of determination, and a lot of knee bending, on their part :D

Yea the woman that bred my "accident" bred both breeds and lived on a farm with a big shed that is divided into kennels. Her goat let all the dogs out one day and the rest as they say is history! the bernese was mammy and the cav was daddy...he certainly set his sights high lol!!

I was more amazed by the fact you had said both parents were stud dogs, glad there was actually one female in the partnership, otherwise that would have been a rare breed.:) Would love to see pictures of your lad.:)

Apologies...meant breeding dogs! Apparently he is a rather well bred fella...this is him:

I keep him clipped as he is naturally quite fluffy:
