I hate ebay or the post office or both

Well more like sellers on ebay

Won an item on ebay on Monday (21st) and payed via paypal straight after the auction . Seller had stated that parcel was coming via the PO 1st class . Well after waiting this week for them to arrive , i've given up hope of getting them until monday at the earliest

I emailed the seller to ask if they had been sent , but I have had no reply

Id say the seller. I always email when I have posted the item (usually next day) so the buyer knows. Keep emailing them or is it a shop?? sometimes they dont respond as quick

PS I like your horse in sig

I bought a brand new item......on arrival it was obviously used so I returned it to the seller via 'Signed for Delivery'. That was 11 days ago & it still hasn't arrived. I'll be claiming from Royal Mail but you can't do that for 15 working days. I deliberately sent it 'signed for' to ensure delivery but I swear the Royal mail is getting worse!!

I'm not sure if its a private seller or a shop

they seem to have the same item for sale (Dubarry Galway boots )
for sale just in different sizes . I only bought off them because their feedback was great and all the comments were to do with how quick their delivery was !

Oh thankyou , thats sol my ginger cow

I sell stuff on ebay fairly regularly. I recently posted an item via 1st class recorded mail. 5 days later it still hadn't arrived. I asked at the post office to be told....."It can take up to 10 days for 1st class mail!!!!!"
The Royal Mail website says next day or possibly the day after for 1st class!! It did arrive 8 days after I posted it.

the post has been odd the last few days aswell so I don't know what to do , the parcel wasn't even coming from that far away (about 50 miles )!!

Doesn't look good for my boots then . If i'd have known I would have asked for it to be sent by a differnet courrier (sp) instead of the sh*tty RM !!!

I will . The more I email the more pissed off I get . I doesn't say anywhere on the item description that the seller is away etc so the have no excuse as they have sold two more pairs of boots since I ordered mine !!

I bought an item from ebay and sent my payment off on 17th march - got it back yesterday after 5 weeks! Turns out seller had moved and updated her details but ebay had had a glitch in system and put her old addy on.

Wouldn't be so bad but it was marked on 18th march that they couldn't deliver it but still took em til yesterday to return it to me

The post is a total nightmare at the moment so it may not be the sellers fault. We send out a number of parcels every day using 1st Class Recorded mail. The time they are taking at the moment is laughable. These should arrive next day but are taking on average 4-5 days. I sent a special showing numnah to a customer who needed it for a show and it took 11 days to arrive. The replacement I had sent her (because we thought the original was lost) arrived on the same day as the original. Another parcel turned up burnt (Yes really - the packaging was burnt through and the saddle pad was blackened!).

Well I beg to differ, I posted a parcel back to EC yesterday at the local post office just before 1.00pm, I had an email this morning at 10.57am from EC, saying that they are in receipt of my returned item.

So I don't think that its always the Royal mail at fault, in my experience of buying on ebay, a delay is almost that of the sellar.

I have to say that this is the first time I've had a problem in over 4 years of buying and selling on Ebay with payments usually arriving quickly ie. within 2 days

So you bought this item exactly 4 days ago and are ranting that it hasnt been delivered yet??? Crikey...... maybe the seller couldnt get to the post office till wednesday/thurs (possibly has a life other than ebay!).... maybe royal mail are using their 1-2 working days (which is i think what it says on their website that it takes for first class.......)

or maybe just maybe, they will arrive first thin tomorrow and all will be well!

Daisy Dick I agree the mail is USUALLY very good - we send out around 50 parcels per week, but recently it has been rubbish. I am talking about in the last 3-4 weeks. I monitor all deliveries and can see when a customer has been carded or when the parcel has been signed for. At the moment its not pretty and I am sending urgent ones Special Delivery at extra cost to us to overcome the (hopefully temporary) problem.

I sent a rug to somone recently and it turned up 2 weeks later completely unpackaged with the label stapled onto the side! I had thought it was packed very neatly- in fact i was quite pleased!!
So the P/O was not to blame really and was a genuine mastake on my part as the seller Maybe is neithers fault??
I try to see the best but others say am gullible, who me???

So you won it on Ebay on monday - was this in the evening?
Say the seller packed it up and sent it on tuesday. Parcel post takes 3-5 working days. So you wouldn't actually expect it until today!

However we do send out emails saying when things have been sent, and the only way we know it hasn't arrived is when the buyer sends us a (NICE not Ranting please) email.

I ordered something off ebay, and waited, and emailed and waited and emailed.

The seller advised me she had sent it via the Post Office so I asked for a photocopy of the Proof of Posting.

Funnily enough that wasn't forthcoming as she later admitted that she'd forgotten about my order and still had it sitting on her desk!

Blaming the RM for delays is an easy way out

I sold a saddle on Ebay and posted it the following day by parcel post. It took 3 weeks and 4 days to arrive. Luckily my buyer was patient and honest or I could have been very out of pocket. I was pretty sure the PO couldn't have lost it as it was in such a massive box.

our post office has changed its opening times from
7-6
to
7-1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so if you miss your parcel in the morning you have to wait till the next day
i said to the woman if they want half a day 1-6 would be better at tleast then you have a chance of getting your parcel

It's not unusual for an ebayer to offer First Class postage but not send it for almost a week, so I wouldn't automatically blame Royal Fail. Hubby sends a lot of stuff from ebay sales and they have been arriving within 24 hours with only the odd exception.

Hi sorry I havent replied ...
I was just a bit peed off with the RM OR EBAY (I don't mind

)
Because Seller does this as a buisiness so expect them to be prompt with sending the parcel and it was a B.I.N at nearly £200 so I wanted my boots ! And well I just dislike the PO atm since they managed to 'loose' a whopping great rug that I sent . Sorry was just being stroppy this AM as had been waiting alllllllllllll morning for the post
