Sorry for ranting guys but i got to the yard today to bring my boy in from the field and he's got two kicks to the chest and 4 to one leg couldnt believe it was looking forward to riding but instead came up to a swollen pony who is now feeling very sorry for himself having to stay in tonight after not been in one since december i just wish there was a way to find out who kicked him he seems to be the only one out of his group who's been battered if he's the same in the morning i think it will be a wee trip to the horse shops to buy some bute

Hope he's better tomorrow, sounds like he's right at the bottom of the pecking order, is individual turnout out of the question?

yeah individual turn out is miles out of the question he tends to go a bit loopy and jump out the field to go back to his friends i just dont get why everythin has suddenly changed as the group he is in with has been the same for a year a new horse is going in on friday so i might leave him in for a few nights when it does

You may find that having a new horse in the herd changes the dynamics. Sounds like a good idea to keep him in though.

I completely know how you feel, my horse was like this for years, I could have wrapped him in bubble wrap and he would have found a way to hurt himself, every week the vet was out for something.

He hasn't hurt himself for a good year now though

ahhh the joys of accident prone horses.. going up every night just wondering what they'll of got up to this time.

hope you find out, as above sometimes adding a new horse into dynamics can help.

I have both a bully horse and an accident prone one but since they've been in same field, done everything together they've both changed. bossy one has been taken down a peg or has settled and other seems to have gone up a peg and stands up for himself more!
