2 horses got loose today; set my lot off... I then couldnt catch pony

When I eventually caught her and tacked her up. I went to get on... stood at the top of the mounting block and she swung her arse out and span round the block... and then pulled backwards; so I let go. Then couldnt catch her.... Managed to corner her and get her; she pulled backwards and backwards and backwards.
The YO was coming round the corner and gave me a hand to get on, pony behaved.
Then she was a cow at the arena gate, so again I had to have some help.
She was a pain to ride, so I gave up as I was getting nowhere (but I am annoyed as I dont normally give up/give in to her)
Oh and she broke both her o/r boots whilst riding (any suggestions for decent o/r boots would be great!!) I got off and worked her around the block, on, off, on off... then I took her up to the main yard and did the same, on a different block... she got the message and was well behaved. I have slapped her before with my stick for being a twit at the block (pet hate, shes not a youngster or a racehorse, and she has manners, so she can stand still)


Anyway I got home and took off my gloves... my hand is all puffy now from being dragged around by her, and the finger that I broke ages ago is now bruised again and hard to bend :'(

What is up with horses at the moment... they are all being arses.
AND I now cant hack her out tomorrow, I was hoping to take her out and trot her energy out of her; guess shell have to be schooled instead!!!

Lol, tbh I'd go for a stonking trot tomorrow, even if its just in the school! Just keep her moving, trotting and cantering- no need not to just because you can't hack.
 
The only reason I didnt tank her round the school today was because there was a little girl jumping in there, and an old man on his old horse in there!!!

might do it in the school if there arent too many people in there; so she can piss about and not scare other people
 
Doesn't have to be out of control- just trot constantly/ canter her. We've got the similar problem- roads are icy, but there's no school just a large field. Not helpful when trying to reschool an ex-racer- hes rather enjoying the sedate hacks!

oh it wouldnt be out of control lol, it could just be a bit quick to start with!!! dont want to scare people
I tend not to hack on the road anyway

Must be something, I know I didnt cut her feed when she wasnt being ridden properly in the ice... but her feed contains nothing heating, its all just to keep the weight on her
