So someone comes to see Lady today, she was perfect for me, the girl got on well with her but had a couple of run outs when jumping her (not the ponys fault at all!). Then girl loved her.
They just left. "Thanks for letting us try her" and off they went.

I am so peed off. She was perfect, she looked too good for how much she was on the market for.

I have now decided, f*** selling her right now, unless someone good and GENUINE not joyriders

phones. Instead I am taking her to my event lesson tomorrow instead of Tara as she is having her back done anyway, and I am going to school her over some BE courses in the next few weeks and do some intros and stuff

The ones that quietly walk away are oftne the ones that will phone you up and make an offer.

I never display any particular interest in the horse at the viewing (unless I fear someone else may be there ready to make an offer as soon as I've gone which has happened once and was the one occaision I bought the horses there and then!!)

I agree with bossanova - give them some time - they may still come back to you. I will always try to play it down as much as possible when I look at any horse - tis the games of viewing horses!

Tell me about it. I am trying to sell my project horse - unbroken and people keep ringing me asking if he is qiuet to ride! They cant of even read the advert properly!

It does sound like the combination of the horse and rider isn't a good one. If I tried a horse and it ran out with me a few times I wouldn't buy it. I would just accept that it wasn't the horse for me, doesn't matter if it is brilliant with someone else as I am the person buying it.

As she is quite young and not the finished article it will probably take a few people to see her before you find the right one.

Had similar probs selling my last ever pony (beautiful TBXWelsh D mare). I had 2 different riders try her out with families present. She had been hunted, placed 1st and 2nd in jumping and ridden classes and was in peak fitness, totally bombproof and came with all tack and rugs! I don't know how they didn't snap my hand off!! But the third family who came along bought her on the spot for their 2 twin girls and were a lovely family and gave her a 5 star home. 3rd time was the charm for me hun!!

i wouldnt rant too much -
perhaps they are like me?
i view with my mum and as my dad is not very mobile i go home and speak to him first before i make up my mind.

its better them just walking away then telling you how much they love her and then never calling.

seems the pony might be a little un genuine if it runs out....

Shes not ungenuine, just young and unexperienced, and finds it hard to jump come round disunited on the wrong leg to a 3ft3 spread. And she jumped it second time, which imo shows she was pretty genuine.

I am not really ranting at the people- if the ponys not right for them then fine (although the little girl was grinning from ear to ear when she walked back to us and when asked if she wanted to do anything else, she said "no she was perfect i don't need to do anything else on her!").
I am just ranting at how much I hate selling horses, in general. Too much stress, putting whole afternoon's aside for nothing.

Actually she has been going really well recently, so I wouldn't mind doing a few events on her if i have to

And I guess they may still phone tomorrow. I have someone else who I have got to phone back tomorrow and tell them she is still for sale so we will see.

I hate selling horses too. I had someone look at P on Sat and I was a nervous wreck! I think it is because I cannot find fault with her and I am waiting to be shown up - I hate being judged. I have pretty much made the decision that she will go off to be sold as I was utterly useless - never usually am!

i just saw your ad as well - looks a nice little horse!

I sold a pony today, assuming they produce cash on delivery, touching wood as i type!! I had 2 for sale, and 5 people came to look at them over the last 2-3 weeks. All said they were interested and would return to see a second time/ring to make an offer. I have not heard from a damned one of them since they drove out of our yard!! HOW RUDE!!!

I agree it's a nightmare but often people don't see the horses we own in the same positive light and they just don't think they are suitable for various reasons. Kids will often love everything they try and want to buy them all and it takes a parent to bring them back to earth !!
At least the people were not rude and didn't abuse your pony in any way as many often do.
I'm sure you will find a nice home soon.
