With a highland!!!!!!!
Came the other day for scholing on, and being the snob I am I didnt take much notice of it, but the YO raved about how it moved.
Next day I had to ride her as she is a bit sensitive and needed a quiet rider, took a bit of a fight for her to stand still for me to mount up, but within five mins I was grinning like a plonker and didn't want to get off!!!
She is very switched on to her rider, but so eager to please. I have never known a heavy built highland move with such a flowing ease, her length of stride is huge and her paces are to die for. She is a very well built girl, but is not strong at all, rode her in a huge open field today and she was a star.
It was so nice to ride a horse that just makes me smile as work has been so full on with problem cases and injured horses. It was just a reminder why i drag my ass out of bed six days a week at the crack of dawn. Today I am a happy bunny.

Can't post them as she is a client horse, but she is a dark dapple gray, with a very pretty face and the kindest eye. Doesnt like getting behind her ears washed though, pulls faces at me for that.

Yeh, think she had a hefty price tag, but think she is gona be worth every penny. Want to make as good a job as I can of her as she is so nice and her owner is lovely.

Highlands rock.
Having said that, Highlands can run away with you in walk, if they want, and I've had some very spectacular falls with one!

when you're leading her she'll sometimes set her neck and just go. she also at times doesn't want to catch, she doesn't just walk away tho, she tries to kick you in the head
