Walking Rosie (my lab) this morning in the woods when we were joined by a young black lab (dog) there were other walkers around and so thought nothing of it, thinking he belonged to one of them. However he followed me all the way home and tried to get in to the house ( I live about 50yds from the woods) I walked him back up to the woods and asked the group I had seen earlier if he was theirs, which he wasn't. I knocked on the door of another house along the track and he was nothing to do with them but had apparently been running around since about 5 am this morning. He had a collar on but no tag.
Took him home and rang the dog warden/police/vets to see if anyone had reported him missing, no one has. The vets couldn't find a microchip in him. Took him home and here he is. I've checked on doglost.com etc. and no one has reported anything.
One of the ladys who lives a few doors down from us thinks she may know him, they had a rescue dog about 6 months ago from a local shelter but had to give him back as he too much for them and their much older dog. We rang the shelter but there was no answer.
He is quite young, I would guess around 1 year old, I think he has been neutred, its quite hard to tell thought as he hasn't actually sat still long enough for me to check. He has a pretty boxy head which makes me think he may possibly have a little bit of staffy in him aswell. I don't think he iss pure bred lab. he is pretty skinny.
My little sister has named him Trevor. So we now have Trevor and Rosie. Oh dear.
