I have discovered something very exciting! :)

Lately, we have been going for very many long trots in the woods. Some of them have been very long trots, and often we go very fast too, and it is very exciting!

The trots in the woods always finish in the same place where we start. Several times now, I have been put in the stall on wheels (despite my protests  ), and have found myself in a strange place (although once, I was in a place where I had been before, which was interesting.) Each time, we go for a long trot in the woods with other horses. Sometimes, they are horses that I know, which is nice, and once, it was my friend the Normally Grey Pony (I keep him safe from the big bullies in the field)! That was fun.

Often, there are people there that want me to stand still while they stand very close to me with a funny ear snake thing. I'm not sure what that's all about, but I have come to the conclusion that it's probably not dangerous, although I remain alert.

Now, the thing I have discovered, which is very exciting, is that each time we get back to the place where we started, I get my blue bucket with food in, which means that if I trot in the woods faster, I get my blue bucket with food in sooner!!   :)

It is different food than I used to get, but it is still very tasty.

I have extrapolated from my experiences at these trots in the woods that are in strange places, and applied the same principle at home in the last while, and do you know, it works!! :D :D  If I trot really really fast (because I am a fast pony), then I get back sooner, and I get my blue bucket with food in sooner! :)

I find this very exciting. But apparently, the Carrot Lady has caught on to my understanding of the relationship between fast trotting and fast food, because when we return, I often have to wait really really long, even after I see her come with the blue bucket with food in. She says it's "because the speedy beet has to soak", but that can't be right: surely if the beet is speedy, that means that it should be ready sooner than the other food that I used to eat?

Nevertheless, I think I finally understand: when we go for a trot in the woods, I can go really really fast lots, because then, the trot is over sooner, and I can have my blue bucket with food in! :)

Carrots,

oddly amusing! My guilty pleasure is when people do the voice overs for their ponies or horses!
Spooky pony you have life sussed! i think you may have been speaking to our baby pony! xx

Hello Spooky Pony,
I have tried this method of getting food faster ( although the only people I have seen with ear snakes visited the Big Mare when she was a bit poorly). I find though, that it doesn't work here :( If I go fast then I have to stand and wait for the Big Mare to catch up, AND I get into trouble with the Person I Own. Glad it works for you though :)
Lots of Grass Nuts from the Current Appy :)

Dear Spooky pony..thank you for sharing your experiences with us...I am a spooky youngster, who is not sure whether to turn into a fully-fledged Spooky Pony or not...you make it sound quite fun...but I suspect Your Owner has probably done quite a lot of hard work so far, which may mean you have to...and I'm not so sure about that just yet...anyway, I recently overheard My Owner telling her non-horsey OH that she has some samples of SpeediBeet in the tackroom and that technically that means that non-horsey soft-arse South Walian OH could give me warm dinners...so I'm confidently looking forward to being slipped a bit of SB soon myself...hope I don't have to do any fast trotting for it though!!! :D:D:D

Hi spooky pony, I have learnt that if I stop on hack and bend my neck round to my mums knee it worries her cause she thinks I might have tummy ache. When actually my mother taught me to do it by giving me a tasty treat when she'd got on me and well a boys got to try hasn't he, especially when he's wasting away like I am!!!

Love, the big friendly goon and his stupid mother ;-)

Hey Spooky Pony..what d'ya want to be doing with all this trotting for lad..it's too much like hard work, get your head down and nosh that spring grass. Tell ya what if you act lame or get like your choking, she'll go all soft on ya..rug you up all cozy and give ya nice treats...it works try it. If you need anymore lessons in avoiding doing too much gissa shout...love from the 2 field ornaments..xxx

Dear Current Appy,

thank you for the grass nuts! I like those! :) I don't have to wait for the Normally Grey Pony; his Carrot Lady makes him catch up with me if he falls too far behind. Sometimes, he even goes in front, though generally, he knows his place! :)

Dear Cobiau Cymraeg Wyllt,

speedy beet is very tasty, although in my experience, it's not very warm. I think trotting is fun, once you get the hang of it!

Dear Big Friedly Goon,

I know a mare that does that head turning thing. It usually gets her a minty thing with a hole in! Maybe I will have to try that too, so thanks for the tip!

Dear 2 field ornaments,

Unfortunately, that doesn't work for me. When my feet hurt, I end up being dragged to pony jail, and then I have to live there for a long time. Sometimes, I get to be there with my friend the Normally Grey Pony, and then, it's ok, but sometimes, it's Twin Mare, and she's really really mean. I think I would like to avoid going there in future. Unfortunately, planting my feet and making a really really long neck has not, in the past, prevented my ending up in pony jail.

Orange Mare (whose Carrot Lady says is a Half a Flinger though she thinks if anything she is a Whole Flinger) says that if her Carrot Lady gets better from her Colic surgery (it must have been Colic, she was in human Horsepital a lot of days) before the white flaky weather comes back, then she might come and 'share' the big blue bucket with the not very speedy Beet in it? She can trot ever so fast she says.....:-)

Dear Spooky Pony
Guess what's happened to me? I went in the box on wheels without any fuss and then we had a journey. A lorry drove right up behind me, very thoughtless. Anyway, when we stopped my Person opened the doors and we were in a different place!
And now, every day, I have to do work! There's a nice man who gets on me and wants me to 'move off his leg'- I have worked out what he means now.
Yesterday, imagine my surprise when my Person turned up by my stable! Not so much as a text from her all week and then there she is! I heard Them talking and in a couple of weeks, if I carry on with this being ridden business, my Person is going to get on me as well. I hope They don't mean at the same time.
I like trotting fast as well but I don't get a blue bucket. I have aback bowl which I like picking up with my teeth and emptying out onto the floor!!:D

I would be careful Spooky Pony, those mares might look nice, but before you know it tney'll want to share your blue bucket

Do you think they might? Well, they'll have to think again! That's my bucket! :p

Orange Mare, I think I remember you; you were nice! You're welcome to do a trot in the woods with me any time! I don't know about sharing my bucket, but I can let you have some carrots, if that's ok? :)

I also hope they don't mean at the same time; that might get very heavy! If your black bowl has food in, I'm sure it's just as nice as my blue bucket. :)
