I have discovered something very exciting!
Lately, we have been going for very many long trots in the woods. Some of them have been very long trots, and often we go very fast too, and it is very exciting!
The trots in the woods always finish in the same place where we start. Several times now, I have been put in the stall on wheels (despite my protests
), and have found myself in a strange place (although once, I was in a place where I had been before, which was interesting.) Each time, we go for a long trot in the woods with other horses. Sometimes, they are horses that I know, which is nice, and once, it was my friend the Normally Grey Pony (I keep him safe from the big bullies in the field)!
That was fun.
Often, there are people there that want me to stand still while they stand very close to me with a funny ear snake thing.
I'm not sure what that's all about, but I have come to the conclusion that it's probably not dangerous, although I remain alert.
Now, the thing I have discovered, which is very exciting, is that each time we get back to the place where we started, I get my blue bucket with food in, which means that if I trot in the woods faster, I get my blue bucket with food in sooner!!

It is different food than I used to get, but it is still very tasty.
I have extrapolated from my experiences at these trots in the woods that are in strange places, and applied the same principle at home in the last while, and do you know, it works!!
If I trot really really fast (because I am a fast pony), then I get back sooner, and I get my blue bucket with food in sooner!
I find this very exciting. But apparently, the Carrot Lady has caught on to my understanding of the relationship between fast trotting and fast food, because when we return, I often have to wait really really long, even after I see her come with the blue bucket with food in. She says it's "because the speedy beet has to soak", but that can't be right: surely if the beet is speedy, that means that it should be ready sooner than the other food that I used to eat?
Nevertheless, I think I finally understand: when we go for a trot in the woods, I can go really really fast lots, because then, the trot is over sooner, and I can have my blue bucket with food in!
