I used to be very brave and gutsy when riding, and I would jump anything and go hunting and jump big hedges and stuff.
Then I got a job in a dressage yard and loved it so when I bought Axel he was my dressage horse, and I wasn't really interested in jumping any more.
He is a bit lively to hack and very strong so I wouldn't have dreamt of hunting him normally but the bloodhounds are meeting at my yard on sunday and we can all go for free, so I thought 'why not' at least if he's awful I can come home!
I tried him in a kimblewick today and went off to the forest to try my new brakes, and they worked brilliantly
I did loads of cantering, up and down hill, trotted down hill, jumped some jumps and at the end had a fantastic gallop along the gallops and I was able to stop him no problem.
I had the biggest grin on my face which is still there!! And I now can't wait for sunday, I really feel like I have my balls back now and this is what I used to be like.
